Storycitra.com-
Traditional snack in Indonesia has many variant tastes, the one most I love this snack dadar gulung. Actually, I don’t know English about this name snack. The
taste is so damn yummy. Quotes of the day, “Try many kinds of food, perhaps you
will love it.” – Citra Pandiangan.
Honestly, a long time ago I don’t like to try many foods, because of the word diet. Then,
I realize, life is short, try to eat and make it. Today, I want to tell you a story about how to make dadar gulung. Rolled pancakes (Dadar gulung) are it can
be classified as a pancake filled with grated coconut mixed with liquid palm
sugar. The skin of the rolled omelet is synonymous with green because it is dyed
with pandan leaves. That is a normal roll omelet, but now has many variants colors
and fill.
Let’s
make traditional first with the color green from the pandan leaves.
Recipe Dadar Gulung (Roll
Omelet)
Omelet skin ingredients:
250
gr of flour
50
gr tapioca flour
4
gr salt
1
egg
200
ml of coconut milk
200
ml of pandan water
400
ml of plain water
1
tsp vanilla powder
Oil
How
to make:
Mix all the ingredients, and stir until smooth and filtered. Then, prepare a frying pan and heat it. I always used a paintbrush special for cooking and then dip it in cooking oil (I put it in a small bowl). So, it will be easy to wipe it on the pan. When the pan is already hot, pour a ladle and lift it to rotate the pan so it doesn't lump in the middle. Don’t forget to use a small fire. Cook until the color changes and can be separated from the pan. Do that till the dough finish.
Now,
let’s make the fill for the skin. I used traditional fill with coconut.
Fill
Ingredients:
1
coconut (grated white)
100
gr of brown sugar
100
ml of water
50
gr sugar
1
tsp salt
How
to make:
First
boil water, brown sugar, and white sugar until dissolved, strain, and set aside. Then
cook the stir-fried coconut for 5 minutes, then add the sugar water earlier, and cook until dry. Ready to make the fill of the omelet.
How
to make it roll
Folding
and Rolling: Take one of omelet's skin, and put about 2 tablespoons of filling in the
middle of the skin slightly down. Fold and roll the omelet skin to form a
cylinder. Serve when it is still warm. Enjoy. What do you think? Do you want to
try to make this at home?
